WCCO news coverage recently confirmed that the Emerald Ash Borer, a green beetle native to Asia, is killing hundreds of ash trees all over Minnesota. Adam Hardy, owner of A. Hardy Tree Service, has a proven non-invasive method for protecting these trees. By injecting a chemical imidacloprid into the trunk of the ash tree, Adam is helping homeowners save the cost of tree removal, reduce energy costs in the summer months and most importantly keep their beautiful, mature trees healthy.

The treatment must be applied every two years in order to protect the tree from being infested by the bug, and in some cases can even be used to kill the insects in already infested trees.

Adam has teamed up with his brother Kevin Hardy, a Certified Arborist, to prevent this bug from destroying our trees. The bug, which was first discovered in 2002 near Detroit, Michigan, has been the subject of extensive research by Michigan State University. Studies indicate that injection methods like Adam’s have been found to protect ash trees with 99 to 100% kill rate on Emerald Ash Borer adults and larvae.
